LOUISVILLE, Ky. --  Police have arrested a local woman for providing false information and discovered a lot more after she was taken into custody.

 

According to LMPD, Malinda Doner, 26, was a passenger in a car during a routine traffic stop. Officers asked Doner for her information and she gave them the name of Mandy Clips with a false social security number but her correct date of birth.

 

Police reminded Doner that providing false information to an officer was a crime and she said she was aware. Police discovered that Doner was not Mandy Clips and she was arrested. 

 

While in custody, police performed a body scan of Doner and noticed an irregularity. When asked about it, Doner said she had nothing on her.  The scan was performed again and the same anomaly was noticed.

 

After denying having anything on her again, police performed a strip search. During the strip search, officers removed both a baggie of marijuana and a hand-rolled marijuana blunt from Doner's vagina.

 

Police reports claim it was Doner's intention to smuggle the drugs into the correction facility and use them in there.

 

Melinda Doner is facing a misdemeanor for giving an officer a false name and charges including possession of marijuana, tampering with physical evidence and promoting contraband.

Jim Berns staged the stunt to publicize his intent to 're-legalize marijuana.'

 

A Cincinnati mayoral candidate who promised to give away marijuana plants left customers dissatisfied when they received tomato plants instead of pot.

 

Libertarian Jim Berns tried to woo voters with the ploy Wednesday, part of his platform calling for the legalization of the drug in Ohio.

 

Around 30 supporters, mainly college aged, showed up to support the candidate and dozens of people reportedly lined up to receive their plant at a city park.

 

Wearing an American Flag tie, the political hopeful was photographed handing out the small shrub and distributing fliers about his crusade to re-legalize the drug.

 

"We support people deciding themselves to smoke marijuana," the 65-year-old told the Daily News.

SEATTLE, Wash. (KTLA) — A butcher at Seattle’s famed Pike Place Market has given a whole new meaning to ‘pot-bellied’ pigs.

.

After the state legalized marijuana use in earlier this year, William Von Schneidau started feeding his hogs unused weed by-products.

 

According to Schneidau, the pigs who were fed marijuana stems, leaves and roots were 20 to 30 pounds heavier than his other pigs.

 

And his ‘smoked’ bacon has been very popular.

 

In fact, his sales were so high, he ran out of meat.

When authorities discovered a lab full of marijuana plants in a bomb shelter beneath an all girls Orthodox Jewish school south of Tel Aviv, they proposed that outsiders must be responsible – because Haredim girls would never smoke pot, right?

 

A queer smell arose from the bomb shelter of the Kiryat Gat school for Haredi girls located about 35 miles south of Tel Aviv, The Jerusalem Post reports.

 

One teacher followed her nose, so to speak, and stumbled upon a professional growing lab in a bomb shelter below the school, which was complete with all the special lamps and irrigation technology required to grow twelve marijuana plants in a dark, enclosed space.

 

But here’s where it gets funny. Perhaps to divert negativity away from the Orthodox community, law enforcement officials were quick to say they will explore the possibility that a stranger to the school had coveted the space for their illegal drug operation.

 

In fact, they are going to launch a full-scale undercover operation to root out the bad guy (girl?) with an attitude reminiscent of that recently directed towards 269life vegan activists who protested the meat industry with decapitated animal heads scattered in visible public places in Tel Aviv and surrounding neighborhoods.

 

Most rabbis consider all kinds of smoking to be a form of self-endangerment, so – given marijuana’s mild mind altering qualities caused by the presence of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – it’s probably safe to say that finding a pot growing lab at an Orthodox school is pretty darn scandalous.

 

However, and this is the case with so much in Israel, the country has a split personality when it comes to marijuana.

Marijuana addiction specialist Dr. Christian Thurstone conjured images like the one seen here when, earlier this week, he shared what he sees as evidence of weed users searching for bigger and bigger highs -- and added his fear that such people may soon turn to injecting THC, the active ingredient in pot.

 

Dr. Bob Melamede, among the country's most vocal advocates for the medicinal benefits of cannabis, pulls no punches when asked his opinion about such a prospect. "This is nonsense," he says. "It's idiotic."

 

Thurstone is an extremely prominent figure locally and nationally on the subject of opposition to marijuana regulation and legalization. The medical director of a Denver Health program called Substance Abuse Treatment, Education and Prevention (STEP), he was also a member of the Amendment 64 Task Force, and he remains a primary figure in Project SAM, an organization spearheaded by former Congressman Patrick Kennedy that backs a public-health approach to pot.
