What is the Best Way to Do Dabs? A Little Dab Will Do!

Category: Culture | Posted on Fri, September, 1st 2017 by THCFinder

What is the Best Way to Do Dabs?

Dabbing is the common terms for smoking or vaping concentrated cannabis. While it has been around for nearly a decade, there are still some uncertainties as to how to perform this technique.  TWB has posted about dabs before, but we wanted to give you the lowdown on different ways to do dabs so you can decide which method is the best for you.

The preference for the concentrated version over the cannabis flower lies in its much stronger and powerful kick. The potency comes from its 70 to 90% THC content and no dead plant matter. With the heightened popularity of the ‘dabs’, the increased attention to consumption methods are growing. The below methods are guaranteed whether you are novice or pro.

“Disjointed”: The marijuana sitcom made for killjoys who don’t smoke pot

Category: Culture | Posted on Sat, August, 26th 2017 by THCFinder

Sometimes smoking pot can make a person feel stuck — as in, the body can’t move, or be moved to move. Such a state goes well with the “Netflix and chill” ethos because if you’re locked inside it, odds are you have nothing better to do. Or even if you do, you’re not going to do it. Weed is hilarious like that.

Such a haze may also lead to heady musings, such as the notion that “bad” and “failure” can be mutually exclusive terms when it comes to television. Most of us know terrible television when we see it. But for reasons unknown, or the reason specified above, we keep on watching. Weed has a tendency to make failure bearable.

Then there are puzzles like Netflix’s “Disjointed,” premiering Friday. Created by David Javerbaum, formerly a writer for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” and network comedy generator Chuck Lorre, “Disjointed” blunts its potential by tracing the linework of an established and well-traversed comedic niche with the same broad strokes Lorre employs in shows like “Two and a Half Men” and “Mike & Molly.”

Almost 30 Miles in One Week Touring Portland’s Pot Shops

Category: Culture | Posted on Tue, August, 15th 2017 by THCFinder

This week I walked almost 30 miles in one week touring Portland’s pot shops and attending the cannabis events in week 14.  My trek includes Willamette Week’s Best of Portland Party as well as all of the 710 sales (in the Cannabis culture, July 10 is oil day, since 710 spun 180° onto its head reads as OIL).  I will also be continuing my Dispensary Tour north and east of the Willamette River.  Here is how I walked 27.9 miles from Sunday July 9 through Saturday, July 15.

Sunday, 7/9/17, 3.2 miles. As I had discussed in last week’s blog, we are looking at manufactured homes as a one-story option for our living space.  Today we drove south to Palm Harbor Homes in Albany.  After looking around at many of the available options, we took ourselves out for an early supper and returned home.

Reconnect with Cannabis in Amsterdam- the Cannabis Capital

Category: Culture | Posted on Sat, August, 12th 2017 by THCFinder

Cannabis Capital

Do you want to be a better budtender? Then go to Amsterdam. Working in the industry in America with knowledge of the old world is priceless and it can be a good way to reconnect with cannabis if you are a long-time budtender. After a time, so much weed goes through your hands that it can start to become just another commodity. It is easy to get in a rut, and it is easy to forget how much you love this plant when you find yourself cranking it out daily at work. Visiting the city of Amsterdam can provide a memorable and immersive learning experience that can provoke imagination, introduce unknown subject matter, and offer unique environments that may never be seen stateside. A journey to Amsterdam will provide a budtender the opportunity to be exposed to new experiences and explore new things. This unique exposure can provide the foundation for creativity as well as critical thinking in the workplace. I have been twice and I am already thinking ahead to my next trip.

A History of the Legalization (and Illegalization) of Pot

Category: Culture | Posted on Fri, July, 21st 2017 by THCFinder

With marijuana legalization spreading across the country, more and more people are open to taking a toke for themselves. In our modern culture, smoking pot has become more socially acceptable than smoking cigarettes and (for some people) even drinking alcohol.

Scientifically, it has already proven to be safer. Yet, opinions on marijuana weren’t always this lenient.

In fact, for nearly a century, a good majority ruled marijuana as an addictively dangerous substance. Though that notion is now considered ridiculous (by most), it’s what initiated the struggle we find ourselves in while attempting for nationwide legalization.

As of now, 28 states have permitted the use of medicinal marijuana. Within eight of those states, recreational use is also allowed. That being said, we still continue to fight for future legalization laws.

How Cannabis Could Be a Psychedelic—And Why That’s Good

Category: Culture | Posted on Mon, July, 17th 2017 by THCFinder

Psychedelics can have a bad name, even among dedicated recreational drug users.

LSD, psilocybin and other mind-rearranging substances require investments of time and mental energy many of us don’t have to spare on a weekday night after a long day of work. We just want something to take the edge off, strong enough to relieve pain or other symptoms of living holding us back, able to throw a warm-hued filter over our normal reality—not blow it apart entirely. We have stuff to do!

For most people, alcohol will do the trick. For others, a few hits of cannabis is the tonic.

But! As anyone who’s dabbed just a little too much can tell you, THC is absolutely powerful enough to seriously distort things. This means, according to some of the most respected experts in the field, that cannabis is absolutely a psychedelic substance—and that’s a good thing. It means marijuana has immense value for psychotherapy.
